The work has begun!

February has seen the start of the work on the station building. The railways contractors have been busy making the building safe, restoring the utilities and working on the interior.

Visiting the site it is amazing to see the space flooded with light (and free from spiders).

The contractors have pointed out a few building restrictions which will effect the final plans, for example the toilets may not be able to be fully disabled accessible due to the lack of a lintel above the door frames hindering their being widened. However to have received this input of money and work from the railways is amazing and has fast-forwarded the project tremendously.

The rotten wooden flooring has been removed, and a new concrete floor poured. The windows and doors have been sent off the be stripped and repaired and the asbestos has been removed.
